Position on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Panhellenic Council

2025

At Drake University, the Panhellenic community remains unwavering in our commitment to fostering a culture of belonging, respect, and inclusivity. We firmly believe that our community is stronger when we embrace diversity, actively promote equity, and ensure that all individuals of different backgrounds, cultures, sexualities, and race feel valued, supported, and safe, whether they are members of our organizations or not.

In the face of national discourse challenging DEI efforts, we reaffirm that diversity is not a dividing force but a uniting one. Inclusion and equity are not political statements; they are fundamental values that create healthier, more understanding, and more compassionate communities. The principles of fraternity and sorority life—leadership, service, scholarship, and friendship—are best upheld when every person is welcomed and empowered to thrive.

As the Panhellenic Council, we are dedicated to ensuring that our initiatives, programming, and policies reflect these values. We will continue to provide education, resources, and advocacy to support a more inclusive FSL community at Drake. Our doors remain open to conversations, collaboration, and continuous growth, because we know that we are better together.
